From Your Kitchen
You can remove olive oil stains with a few items from your kitchen. You probably already have the things you need to remove oil stains.
Use a Liquid Detergent and Baking Soda
These two ingredients are easy to locate. These two ingredients can be used to remove olive oil from clothes.
Baking soda, or Sodium bicarbonate, is a great stain remover. Due to its slightly alkaline nature, it is a good stain remover. It can cut through oil because of this. When you mix it in water, the abrasive properties increase.
You can use baking soda to remove olive oil stains from your clothes. If neither of these methods works, you can add laundry detergent to the mix.
It would be best if you first tried to blot the area with a paper towel before applying your liquid detergent. Grab a paper towel as soon as you see the stain and begin blotting. The blotting paper absorbs the oil residue, making the stain removal easier.
You can then apply baking soda to the clothes if you feel that the paper towel has taken up as much oil as it can. Wait 10 to 15 minutes for the baking soda to work. Do not rinse. Remove the baking soda with your hands. Repeat the process if you are not successful at first.
If you still haven’t succeeded with your second try, it is time to use liquid detergent. Drop a small amount of liquid onto the stain and gently rub. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before washing it with water. You can repeat the process if it does not work.
Use Liquid Detergent and Corn Starch
Cornstarch is another item you can find in your kitchen to remove olive oil from your clothes. You can call this item “absorbent”. It can remove stains by absorbing them.
No need to use paper towels to remove stains. Take a small amount of cornstarch and apply it directly to the color. It takes patience to use this. Leave the cornstarch in place for 30 to 60 minutes if you want it to work.
Add a small amount of liquid soap to the baking soda after you have waited patiently. Mix them and then rub the stain. You should not rub the clothing too hard, as you could damage it. You can wash your clothes in warm water after this.
