To prevent shoplifting, most stores attach security tags to the products they sell. If you leave the shop with these security tags still attached, they will be activated. During busy times, staff may forget to remove security tags from the clothing you have purchased.
You may have ordered dresses online, and they arrived with the security tags still attached. These tags can be difficult to remove, and you could damage your clothes if you’re not careful. No need to worry. You can remove security tags from clothing using the following methods.
What are security tags
Security tags are small transmitters that companies attach to products, primarily clothing. The tag will alert you if someone attempts to steal an item but passes through the exit before paying or removing it.
Clothing, accessories, and alcohol are the most common products with security tags. In the case of clothing and soft goods, the security tag is attached using a pin that passes through the fabric. The pin is then locked into the security label.
Businesses use two types of security tags: magnetic locks and mechanical locks. Magnetic lock strengths are available in a variety of options. The stronger the magnet, the more difficult it is to remove a tag.
You’ll need to use the correct tools if you want to remove your security tag by yourself. Security tags are available in a variety of shapes, including cubes, pencils, and circular. Circular tags, according to studies, are the hardest to remove.
Mechanical Security Tags
The easiest tags to remove are mechanical tags. The labels are attached to the clothing using pins or mechanical fasteners. We will discuss in the next section how to remove these automated tags.
Magnetic Security Tags
The most complicated security tags to remove are magnetic security tags. To dismiss them, you need the correct tools. If you don’t know how to remove them, it can permanently damage your clothes.
Security Tags in Ink
Ink tags tend to be less popular because they are expensive. Ink is contained in a glass tube, which can spill if opened with excessive force. Ink tags can be transparent so that you can see inside the ink.
Some ink tags do not have a window that shows the ink. If this is the case, you should treat it as an inktag and be cautious when removing it. Remember to read the label and follow it to prevent ink from leaking onto your clothes.
Remove Security Tags With A Rubber Band
Step 1. Make sure the ink cartridge of the tag is facing downward. Ink cartridges are the parts of the title which protrude out of the plastic tag. The pin is on the other side.
Step 2. Pull the tag away from your clothes. You want to get the title as far away from your clothes as possible so that the ink won’t damage them if the sensor doesn’t work.
Step 4 – Wrap a rubber band around the pin on the security tag. Secure it. Rubber bands with a width and thickness that is thick enough but thin enough to wrap a pin around are ideal for this job. This will loosen the plug.
Step 4. You hold the larger part of the inktag using only one arm. Remove the pin with your other hand. Pins must exert enough pressure to cause the hook of the tag to snap off or easily separate from the rest. If the rubber band does not loosen it sufficiently, repeat this process.
Remove Security Tags with a Screwdriver
You can remove clothing security tags with a screwdriver that has a flat tip.
Step 1- Place the clothing on an even surface and make sure the ink cartridge faces up. Slide a flathead screwdriver under the squared pyramid cart and move it around.
Step 2: Firmly press the screwdriver underneath the cartridge. The plastic should be pierced and pulled up by this. Push the screwdriver handle so that the plastic perimeter is lifted off.
Step 3. After removing the cartridge, you will notice a silver paper covering a metal plating underneath. Remove the silver paper.
Step 4: Lift the metal arms using the screwdriver. Pull the pin away from the tag.
Remove Security Tags by Freezing
Step 1- Another way to remove security tags from clothing is to place the clothes in the freezer. After the clothes have been frozen, please remove them and allow them to rest for an hour or more before you begin to remove the security tag.
Step 2. You can remove them using the tools that you already have at home, such as pliers or a pair of scissors. If you don’t have any pliers or scissors, then you can use a rubber band. The tag is safer when frozen because the ink will not spill.
Needle-nose pliers are used to remove security tags
Step 1 Place the clothing on top of the surface, with the ink cartridge facing up.
Step 2. Using pliers, grab one side of the rectangular tag.
Step 4 – Use a new pair of pliers and grab the tag from the other side.
Step 4: Using pliers, bend the tag gently on both ends. You don’t want to turn the title too hard, as it could cause ink to leak.
Step 5. Keep bending the dungeon until it opens, and then stop. Pull the pin out to loosen.
Remove Security Tags by Hitting the Tag
Step 1- Pull the tag repeatedly away from the garment to remove the pin.
Step 2. Grab a large nail. The head of the pins should be as wide as the penny to ensure that it fits correctly.
Step 3. Remove the tag by pulling it out. The tag’s plastic tip should be kept out of the way.
Step 4. Open the ink cartridge with pressure. Tap the ink cartridge gently on a surface. You may have to tap it 20 or more times before you get it right. Be careful, as the tag may burst if you strike it too hard.
Remove Security Tags with Two Forks
Two forks will do the trick.
Step 1. Insert two forks on either side of each tag to achieve this.
Step 2. To open the tag, pull it in the opposite direction. This is the best method for removing labels.
Remove Security Tags with Candle and Plier
This method only requires two items – a plier and a candle.
Step 1- Using a flame, heat the dome part of the tag.
Step 3 -Then remove the spring from the base cylinder by using pliers.
Step 4 -You’ll see a needle enclosed by a ball. Remove the hand gently.
