Why is it that when we wear linen dresses or shorts made of linen, we instantly feel transported to a yacht in the Mediterranean? We are sipping champagne, having a great time, and enjoying the moment. The linen fabric does have this special quality that transports you to a summer oasis. Summer also means a lot of delicious food, including chocolate ice cream, icy lattes, and other tasty treats. If you’re clumsy, like us, you may have stains on your linen. Here is our post, just in time! We’re going to show you how to keep your linens looking great for years to come.
How do you wash linen
It is easy to maintain linen due to its strong fibers. However, it would be best if you still remembered a few important things. It’s up to you whether you want to wash your linen with a machine or by hand. Separate the dark linens from white ones before you begin the washing process to reduce the risk of dye transfers. Turn linens inside-out and wash them separately from other fabrics if you want the best results. Avoid washing linen fabrics with heavy items such as jeans, towels, or hoodies. This will complicate the process and can damage linen over time. Try not to overload the washing machine to ensure that garments have enough space to soak and rinse. Follow the seller’s instructions when choosing the temperature of your machine linen wash. They may differ. Our linen clothes, for example, are made of pre-washed fabric that has been pre-shrunk. This means they won’t shrink if the temperature is selected correctly. If you want to wash linen, use lukewarm (40degC/104degF). Higher temperatures can cause linen fibers to weaken over time and shrink up to 10%.
How do you remove stains from linens
It is better to act quickly. The longer you leave the stain, the more difficult it will be to remove. We recommend that you rinse or soak the stain with a mild detergent immediately, even though linen is a naturally stain-resistant material. Bleaching linen will not produce the desired result and can damage the fabric fibers. If you have a white item that has a stain, place it in the sunlight, and the sun will remove the stain. This might seem impossible, but it’s true! You may be wondering what is the best product to use when washing linen clothing. There isn’t a single correct answer. It is always recommended to use a mild detergent that is suitable for wool. Our customers wash their linens only with water, and they seem to have no problems. We will only say that you should avoid detergents containing substances such as Sodium Hydroxide and Borate, Cellulase, Protease, Amylase, and Cellulase. These substances are not suitable for linen fabric.
Tips and Tricks for Linen Care
Modern times have made tumble drying a necessity. Linen will not get in the way. There are some things to keep in mind. Linen is sensitive to temperature and will shrink if the temperature is higher than recommended. If you want your linens to last longer, it’s important to buy higher-quality linens. Do not overdry your linens if you decide to tumble-dry them. To reduce fabric damage, remove linen while it’s still damp. If this doesn’t work and your linen becomes stiff, you can spray water on it, and it will return to its original state in just a few minutes. Air-drying linen in fresh air or a well-ventilated area is the best way to dry it. Lay the linen on a flat surface or hang it on a line. This will prevent wrinkles and shrinkage in specific areas. Even the hanging-drying method is quicker than you think!
What is the easiest way to iron linen clothing
Our collection is full of dresses that don’t need to be ironed every day. We have a collection of dresses that are easy to wear and don’t require ironing. Also, we think wrinkles give the fabric a unique crispness and texture. So, you might want to reconsider ironing linen skirts or other garments. If you wish for your linen fabric to be smooth and wrinkle-free, it is best to iron the linen slightly damp. The heat from the iron will remove the wrinkles as well. To be safe, turn the linen trousers inside out, as you would any other garment. If your iron leaks water when using calc, the stains won’t be visible on the right side of the garment. This will keep you from ruining your day. When your linen skirts are dry, spray them with water. Then, set your iron to the linen setting (flax), which is typically 230 C/445F. Iron the garment carefully.
Is there a way to reduce the creases in linen without using an iron
It is admirable that some of us don’t have an iron at home. This saves time and energy! If you choose not to iron your linen but still desire a crisp and nice texture shine, we have a few tips. After washing your linen, please remove it from the washer while it’s still damp. Then, hang it up or place it on a solid foundation for drying. You can spray starch on it after drying to give it a more crisp look. Spray the garment with water to refresh it if it isn’t dirty enough to wash. Use your hands to smooth out any prominent wrinkles. After the item has dried, you can wear it crease-free. It is important to note that linen dries quickly, so you won’t have to wait for hours to get your linen dress ready. You can use a steamer to remove the wrinkles. However, there are other ways that you can save energy and not need a machine. If you don’t have a steamer or an iron to use, you can hang the linen piece while you shower. The steam from hot water will soften your linen within minutes. You will be able to wear a wrinkle-free and fresh item of clothing.
What should you know about linen clothing
We will now discuss how to store your linen clothing. You can keep your linen clothes the same way as you would with other clothing, but we have some great tips that we’d love to share. Store your linen clothing in a dark, cool place, such as your closet, to keep it in great condition. It may seem obvious, but store only items that are clean and new. Even small dirt areas, such as sweat or soil, can cause permanent stains. Unclean clothes can attract pests and produce unpleasant smells throughout the closet. Make sure you store everything completely dry. Even slightly damp clothes can cause mold, which is difficult to remove.
