We all know how irritating a pair of jeans that are too tight can be. But isn’t that how it is? Because you’ve been sitting for so long, the waistband is suddenly not as form-fitting, and your knees are creased. Relatable?
There is a way around this. You can reduce the size of your jeans. You read that right. The new trend is shrunk jeans. These jeans are tighter than regular jeans and more fitted than skinny jeans. The crotch is higher than in traditional jeans, making your legs, hips, and butt appear slimmer. You only need simple tricks to bring up your sleeves (cuffs). These techniques will help you never again let jeans bother your mind.
The Best Ways to Reduce Jeans Quickly
Use dry ice
Put your jeans in a plastic bag and seal them. Then, tie it up. To shrink the jeans, place them on dry ice for at least two hours. Be careful, as some fabrics can become stiffer or more damaged after the dry ice evaporates.
Use an Iron
Use hot water to dampen any open areas of your jeans. These areas could include the waistband, the thighs, and the knees. Turn your iron to the cotton setting, and then run it through dampened areas of your jeans. Make sure you only pause in one place for a short time. Once the jeans are dry, you can put them on.
Remember to dampen the problematic areas on your jeans and not soak them.
Take a dip in the Bath.
Although it may be uncomfortable, this works well. Warm water should be added to the tub. Remember, no soap. Get into your bathrobe and remember your jeans. After the water has cooled, you can then get out. Step outside to drain any excess water. You can walk around, but make sure the jeans are dry to ensure they fit correctly.
In colder weather, you can hang your jeans outside to dry.
Use a Paddle to Shrink Jeans
Place the jeans in a sink and fill it with warm water. After the jeans are wet, wash them and wring them until dry. Tap the fabric with a wooden spoon/spoon for approximately ten minutes. Then, repeat the process on the opposite side. This will shrink your jeans by increasing friction in certain areas.
Use the Freezer Method
Put your jeans in the freezer for a night and then take them out the following morning. Your pants will shrink over the next day, and you can wear them again. This method is not recommended for cotton items as the fabric will become stiff after drying.
Put Them in the Dryer
This is a simple technique. Place your jeans in the washer, and turn on the highest temperature. After they are dry, could you put them in the dryer? Let them dry completely. You can now wear your shrink jeans. Be careful if you have delicate jeans. Reduce the temperature in your washer.
Use the Boiling Method
Boil the water in a large saucepan or pan. Turn your jeans inside out and place them on the pan. Make sure the jeans are entirely submerged. You can push the jeans down with a spoon or ladle, depending on how hot the water is. Allow them to rest for 20-30 minutes. Once in a while, stir the water. After that, drain the water from the jeans and dry them.
